Newspapers across the country have faced a difficult environment with the advent of the internet. Classrooms, too, have changed radically with the digital age. In such a setting, it is easy to thing newspapers are passé. I would argue, however, that such a thought ignores the strength of the most powerful project-based learning experience I've ever shared with students. Join me for a free-wheeling talk about the importance of high school journalism, the benefits to students involved in producing a newspaper, and tips on setting up a successful program. We will also have ample time to discuss and share ideas with each other.
